Accessibility is key in attracting the students we need to sustain and grow our yoga teaching. When yoga seems out of reach via so much media saturation of one "yoga body" we lose people who would gain so much from this beautiful practice.

Accessibility invites them back. But it starts with us.

A half day exploration of what body image is and how to embrace it ourselves and make our classes Body Positive from an expert in the field who is also a yoga teacher! Sarah is an author, yogi, Vic Health Ambassador and Body Image expert and teacher for the last 16 years. She has facilitated hundreds of groups helping men and women improve their body image and is often seen in all forms of media writing or commenting on the topic.

What will I learn?

  • An introduction to language and why it matters in your classes

  • Explore the current barriers which may be in place in your profile or your studio

  • Have quick dive into social media and what works (and what doesn't!)

  • Understand what multi level teaching is and how to apply it in a “Asana Playground” where we all learn together

  • Learn how simple and accessible small changes will change your teaching forever

  • Understand how many of your students are struggling with body image and why we need to cater to that sensitivity (in them and in ourselves)

  • Using chairs, beds and walls! Being creative to help our students flourish

Note: This is a Trauma Sensitive and Body Positive Practice and LGTBQI friendly environment. We acknowledge the original owners of the land on which we practice and provide a social justice lens.
